Seán Cournane

Seán Cournane, PhD, CPhys, CSci, MPE-ICPM, graduated with a BSc in Theoretical Physics from the University College Dublin (UCD) School of Physics in 2003, and went on to complete his PhD in Radiation Physics at UCD’s School of Physics. He is currently a diagnostic imaging medical physicist at St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, where he specialises in ultrasound, nuclear medicine and radionuclide therapy. He is an Adjunct Professor at the UCD School of Physics, a Clinical Lecturer at Trinity College Dublin’s (TCD) Department of Clinical Medicine, lectures at the Faculty of Radiology, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) and is the CAMPEP Director of the UCD MSc in Medical Physics. He is the Director of UCD’s Centre for Physics in Health and Medicine where he conducts research and supervises MSc and PhD researchers. He is author and co-author of several peer-reviewed publications and reviews for a number of different scientific journals.
