Marco graduated from at the Alma Mater Studiorum – Bologna University in 2007 with “summa cum laude”. In 2008 he enrolled in a PhD program at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Bologna University, working in the clinical neurology service under the supervision of Prof. Gualtiero Gandini. In 2011 he successfully concluded his PhD program and started working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Section of Clinical & Comparative Neuropathology, Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany under the guidance of Prof. Kaspar Matiasek. Since 2013 he is Assistant Professor/Lecturer at the Institute for Veterinary Pathology, Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany where he works as a neuropathologist in the Comparative Neuropathology Laboratory of the same Institution. His researches are focused on epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders and neuropathic pain. He is author and co-author of papers published in international peer reviewed journals. He is a speaker of many national and international continuing education courses and congresses in Veterinary Neurology/Neuroscience/Neuroradiology. He is a reviewer for international journals and he is member of the International Veterinary Epilepsy Task Force (IVETF).
