Cynthia Bell
graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, US in 2008 and immediately started training in veterinary anatomic pathology. Dr. Dick Dubielzig was and remains one of her most influential mentors and introduced her to the subspecialty of veterinary oral and dental pathology. After resident training, she remained at the UW-Madison as faculty and, with Dr. Jason Soukup, co-founded the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. After leaving UW-Madison in 2017, Cindy was faculty at Kansas State University from 2017 – 2019 and then left to start her own pathology service in 2019. Cindy is currently owner and principle pathologist for Specialty Oral Pathology for Animals (SOPA) in Geneseo, IL, USA where she is able to dedicate her diagnostic pathology practice exclusively to veterinary dental and oral pathology cases. She uses case material for teaching and research, having authored dozens of papers in international peer reviewed journals. Cindy is an advocate for specialized pathology, supports the Veterinary Dental Foundation, and is passionate about the importance of clinical-pathological correlation for better patient outcomes.
