The normal anatomy and physiology of the thyroid will be briefly reviewed, then the pathophysiology and diseases of the thyroid will be discussed in depth. The diagnosis of thyroid disease vs non thyroid illness will be further discussed and finally surgical management of thyroid conditions will be reviewed
