Peripheral nerves – anatomy, injury and repair

Description

This lecture will review briefly the anatomy of peripheral nerves, their organisation along the limbs and the implications this has on electrophysiological testings. I will also briefly review common electrophysiological tests used to test peripheral nerves and changes seen in the face of trauma. The classifications of trauma to the peripheral nerves will be detailed and methods of repair explained. Finally, there will be a quick snapshot on the method of peripheral nerve biopsy for diagnostic purposes.
