Virginia Luis Fuentes
Virginia Luis Fuentes, MA VetMB PhD CertVR DVC DipACVIM DipECVIM, graduated from the Cambridge Vet School. She then spent 5 years in small animal practice, before joining the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, where she obtained the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology and a PhD. She then moved to the USA, working as an Assistant Professor in Cardiology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and then the Ohio State University. She has worked at the Royal Veterinary College since 2004, where she is a Professor of Veterinary Cardiology. She was Chair of the ECVIM Cardiology Specialty from 2012-2018. Her principal research interests are in canine mitral valve disease and feline cardiomyopathy.
