Thomas Maddox BVSc PhD PGCertHE CertVDI DipECVDI FHEA MRCVS

graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in Veterinary Science and worked for 4½ years in mixed and small animal practice, achieving the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2007. He subsequently undertook a PhD on the epidemiology of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in horses at the National Centre for Zoonosis Research (University of Liverpool). Following completion of his PhD, he became a resident in Diagnostic Imaging at Liverpool from 2010 to 2013. Tom started as a Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging in July 2013 and attained the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in September 2013. He was recognised as an RCVS specialist in Diagnostic Imaging in February 2015 and appointed a senior lecturer in December 2015. He is currently joint head of the diagnostic imaging service. Tom has research interest in the epidemiology of infectious disease and antimicrobial resistance, and in all research aspects of diagnostic imaging, with particular emphasis on imaging of musculoskeletal disease. He is a member of the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease and an Associate member of the Institute of Global Health, currently supervising seven PhD students in these research institutes.
