Ilaria Spalla
Ilaria Spalla, DVM, PhD, MRCVS, MVetMed, Dipl. ACVIM (Cardiology), Dipl. ECVIM-CA (Cardiology)
graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milan, Italy, in 2010. She did an internship at Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso in Milan under the supervision of Dr Claudio Bussadori and in 2011 she enrolled in a Doctoral thesis program at the University of Milan with a project focused on advanced echocardiography and congenital heart disease. In 2015 she enrolled in a master at the University of London and a joint residency program at the Royal Veterinary College, UK, under the supervision of Prof Virginia Luis Fuentes, David J Connolly and Adrian Boswood. In 2018 she achieved the diploma of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine- Cardiology and in 2019 the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine- Companion animals (Cardiology). She is currently working as veterinary cardiologist at Ospedale Veterinario San Francesco, Milan and is also a telemedicine consultant in veterinary cardiology. She has authored papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, and has a strong interest on congenital heart disease, feline cardiomyopathies and advanced echocardiography.
