Veterinary acupuncture remains a hot topic for debate, partly due to the historical incomprehension between Western medicine and Chinese medicine. Nowadays, the mechanisms behind acupuncture’s effects are much better understood, thanks to extensive research. This presentation aims at giving the listener an introduction to acupuncture, with some historical background, basic understanding of the physiological mechanisms backed up by scientific evidence and showing some practical examples.
