Dominique Penninck

DVM, PhD, DACVR, DECVDI

Dominique graduated from the University of Liège (Belgium).  She did a radiology residency at Davis, University of California and stayed on for another year as lecturer.  She is diplomate of the American college of veterinary radiology and of the European college of diagnostic imaging.   She obtained her PhD from the University of Liège in 1998.

In 1989, she joined the Cummings school of Tufts University and leads the ultrasound service.  She has been a Full professor for the past 20 years.

Her scholarly activities include over 100 peer-reviewed publications, with main focus on ultrasonography, and over 85 abstracts presented at numerous meetings. She received the Pfizer award for excellence in veterinary research in 2011.

She is the co-Editor of the textbook “Atlas of Small Animal Ultrasonography”, first printed in 2008, second edition in 2015, and with the third edition in preparation.

She presented over 100 national and international presentations (several keynotes) on various diagnostic imaging topics.

She secured numerous grants supporting retrospective and prospective clinical research studies, most of them on digestive disorders (GI, liver,pancreas).  She also has a special interest in developing novel pedagogic means to improve ultrasound teaching.
